Remember when gas was $4.00 a gallon and were going to solve the energy crisis ASAP. Those were the days: no unnecessary trips, carpooling was all the rage, and everyone was ditching their SUV’s for a Prius. This year we have hovered around $2.00 a gallon. Not to mention car companies are going extinct: Pontiac, Saab, Saturn, and Hummer. Unfortunately, we will never get the Trans AM to return to production. For all my Knight Rider and Smokey & the Bandit fans; the Trans AM shall rise again!
As a preemptive strike I’ve posted some gas tips. Since oil prices have been holding steady around $50 dollars a barrel I wonder what reason the powers that be will find to raise prices. War, global warming, and Republicans appear to be off the table. My guess is that it will be a conspriacy of “the economy”,”pirates”, and “people are driving more”. The real victim in all this is the Slurpee. I buy more Slurpee’s when gas prices go down. When gas prices go up again (and they will), think fondly of “cheap $2.00 gas” then buy a Slurpee and smile.
