The most annoying question ever in the history of the world.

Remember that headline was designed to get your attention. Do I have it?…Good. I get asked this same question so many times I want to hire a small cast to act out my response. It is the official bad date, bad interview, and bad first meeting question. Are you ready ladies and gentlemen?

WHAT DO YOU DO?

On the hunt or at least on the lookout.

In former communities I was somewhat a big deal. I was the guy on the pirate ship that yelled land ho! By no means was I a Captain and if you were another pirate you really did not give a darn. On my ship or community I had a place, purpose, and passion. Then once I started my business I was promoted to Captain. I did not get the message in the bottle that told me I needed to be on the hunt. I was the one responsible for everything most of all finding the buried treasure.

Get the breakthrough by taking the next step.

You can win being the little entrepreneur that could. Passion keeps one going when pieces don’t fit or results are not what you expected. Persevering is a business strategy that creates breakthroughs.

When Dinosaurs Attack the Young Ones.

I am a young wipper snapper and tend to get shafted on the experience debate. Dinosaurs did not attack the young ones, rather they let natural selection take care of things. For fear of alienating my audience dinosaurs is not a metaphor for old. When dealing with money and business I think natural selection is the best way. Once you start attacking the next generation you are stifling future progress. I am the first to admit I stand on the shoulders of those giants before me. I have had the pleasure of meeting a Tyrannosaurs Rex, many Brontosaurus, and several Triceratops. Each one has help me along in return I try to help others. For whatever reason the original dinosaurs are extinct. My thoughts are that if the current juggernauts do not get back to helping us young ones the future entrepreneurs may become extinct. Can you really say you have help someone who may be younger or less experienced than you? Or have you attacked them by using your experience against then.

I almost got Morgan Stanley Disease…

Years ago I had the chance to work for one of the largest banks in the world. I would have been able to enjoy some nice Swiss Chocolate. Then again, I probably would have been unemployed because of the current economic crisis. Early in my business career Morgan Stanley Disease would have lessened the rejections. AJH Financial grew out of my passing on the investment banking opportunity. Then AJH Worldwide Ltd. was spawed from the creative juices of being a solo-preneur.

Encouragement is an investment you can’t pass up

“Go get ‘em tiger” or “If at first you don’t succeed try try again” sometimes is all you need for a pick me up. Our country’s economic condition has made encouragement even more valuable. Usually, we need a reason to encourage someone. Encouragement is free and unlimited in supply. If you are an encouragement supplier with no production cost your return on investment is infinity. One of the best investments you can make is be encouraging whenever possible. Next time you receive encouragement in a passive way take a second to let it grow and provide an infinite ROI.
